Michael Ballack asks Players visiting to China to compare their Salaries

Mar

Michael Ballack reckons that even though there is the possibility of a bumper salary hike for the players if they take the route to China, the players should ask themselves if the salary that they are getting in UK or in any other part of Europe is not sufficient for them.

If it’s sufficient already and the players are capable of having any materialistic luxury in their lives that they want with that salary, then what’s the point of looking for a salary hike? What do they want more money for?

In the words of Ballack, “It amazes you the kind of amounts you get to hear of because it’s far more than the amounts that you generally hear of here in UK and mind you, there is no scarcity of money in UK. Even when I was around I think the salaries were pretty high, even mine was high and I think it’s even higher for the players these days, I am talking about UK.” (more…)

Galatasaray Boss Wants Podolski to Stay

Feb

Galatasaray manager Jan Olde Riekerink says that he wants to keep striker Lukas Podolski at the club. The German has been linked with a move away from the Turkish outfit with talk about Chinese Super League becoming his next destination.

China’s incredible spending spree in the January transfer window has left many top clubs bewildered at the prospect of retaining some of the best players. The incredible amount of transfer fees and wages being offered by the Chinese clubs have been simply astronomical for super clubs in Europe to handle. Despite huge pedigree, Galatasaray are not immune from the threat. (more…)

MKHITARYAN SET TO PLAY IN EUROPA CLASH

Dec
13

Former Borussia Dortmund playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan is reportedly set to play for Manchester United when they face Feyenoord in the Europa League on Thursday.

The player has had an underwhelming time at Old Trafford since his £26 million move this summer. Since the Armenia international featured in the game against Man City on September 10, he had not played in the Premier League. The very talented player has now been relegated to a substitute in the Europa League.

Coach Jose Mourinho played him last week in the 1-1 draw against Arsenal but he is set to get a starting shirt when United play Feyenoord.

“I told him that he is going to be involved in the game against Feyenoord. I said to him ‘Arsenal was not the game for you.’ I don’t think he needs 10 or 20 minutes from the bench. I said ‘you need a good game and you need to either start or if not to come for the second half,” Mourinho said.

The Portuguese tactician, like his players, is under pressure to perform in their first season together. Mourinho admits that Mkhitaryan has been under pressure at Old Trafford and that it has affected his performance.

“He needs less pressure and better conditions for him to express his qualities. He is trying. Obviously, he is not happy. But he is transforming his frustration in a good way which is to close the mouth [of his critics] and work hard and try to adapt,” he added.

Mkhitaryan was pictured training with Bastian Schweinsteiger at their Carrington base. Schweinsteiger recently returned to training with the senior team after he was exiled. Top German football figures in Manuel Neuer, Michael Ballack, Ilkay Gundogan and Lucas Podolski supported that Man United treat the player with more respect even if they were not playing him. Since Schweinsteiger is not included in the Europa League squad, he would not appear when the Red Devils play the Giovanni van Bronckhorst side.

Lukas Podolski is not happy with Bastian Schweinsteiger’streatment

Ever since Jose Mourinho’s arrival to Manchester United on May of 2016, there has been a wave of hope arriving from the supporters of the Premier League.

Even though Jose Mourinho is one of the most controversial managers in the world of football as he has done a number of questionable decisions and actions in his career, the Portuguese manager is still considered as one of the top coaches ever as he has lifted some of the most prestigious titles in football including the UEFA Champions League and many other notable pieces of silverware.

There was and still are some fairly high expectations that Jose Mourinho might be able to win the UEFA Champions League with Manchester United in the near future and this is a title that the Premier League club has not been able to win in over 8 years.

However, the arrival of Mourinho has also caused some negative impact upon some players. Bastian Schweinsteiger, Marcos Rojo, Michael Carrick, Ashley Young and Phil Jones are some of the more renowned players of Manchester United that have been dropped to the sidelines as Mourinho simply doesn’t consider them to be good enough. After making over 100 appearances for Germany and scoring over 40 goals for his national side, it has been officially confirmed that Lukas Podolski has decided to retire as he wants to spend more time with his family and at the age of 31, Podolski is not as energetic as he used to be a few years ago.

The amount of appearances that Lukas Podolski has made for Germany has been decreasing as there are other younger players that have been given the chance to step it up and prove their worth at the international stage.

Podolski is a regular starter for Galatasaray as he made 30 appearances for the Turkish club during the season 2015-16 and it seems like the German forward just wants to spend the rest of his playing career focusing on his club and not having many distractions as well as get more time with his family.

Jul
28

Lukas Podoloski of Germany is probably looking to retire which was announced before the Euros.

Before the Euros 2016 started he stated that he was considering retiring from international football after the tournament which would be an easy decision if Germany won the tournament. Podoloski has definitely contributed much too several games in the international arena. Being a forward player of Galatasaray and 31 years of age, he has made about 129 appearances at senior level for the country as well as being part of the 2014 squad that brought the World Cup back to Germany.

He stayed back from active games for some time. For instance the last match that he played for Die Nationalmannschaft resulted in a win of 4-0 score over Gilbraltar. It was, however, in November 2014. He also scored several goals for Australia last year. For Euro 2016 he made about a single appearance where he was a substitute in the game that resulted in a win over Slovakia with a score of 3-0. Lukas Podolski scored the only goal of the game to help his team win the Cup

Jul

Lukas Podolski managed to score the unique goal of the match as his team Galatasaray beat rival Fenerbahce to win the Turkish Cup for the third season in a row.

The game, however, was quite average with both teams fearing to make a mistake that could give away a goal. The only goal of the match came in the 33rd minute when Podolski managed to divert a ball that was going wide into the net. Indeed, Jason Denyar appeared to have missed the target but the former Arsenal player reacted well in order to score the goal that will give his team the advantage.

Galatasaray was more than content to sit back after the goal as they waited for Fenerbahce to attack them. Fenerbahce will struggle to create occasions in the match, and they became increasingly frustrated with the way the match was going.

The Fenerbahce coach tried to make changes at the break in order to motivate his team, but the performance on the pitch did not change that much. Indeed, he will even replace former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Robin van Persie since he was ineffective on the pitch. (more…)

Jurgen Klopp comments on Liverpool need

Apr
21

Jurgen Klopp says that Liverpool need to have more self-belief if they are to start winning matches against the top teams.

The manager was speaking after the club’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham at Anfield. Even though the result does not hugely improve Liverpool’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League, it is a welcome result against a team that is challenging for the title. It once again puts Liverpool in the headlines, as they have affected the title race in a significant manner. Philippe Coutinho came up with the opening goal seven minutes after half-time break.
Opposition striker Harry Kane, who has been one of the best forwards in the division, came up with the equaliser a few minutes later. Rather worryingly, Liverpool took off striker Daniel Sturridge when he clearly represented one of the best chances of the home team coming up with a winner. Klopp later revealed that the decision was purely tactical and not based on any injuries. Speculation mounted during the match that Sturridge had suffered a recurrence of the numerous problems he has been facing in the last two years. Both teams failed to find a winner in the second half and this was largely down to the absence of self-belief according to the German manager.
